How to get Windows serial keys on your PC.

I have a friend who recently had problems with his new laptop particularly the hard disk. This forced him to re-install his windows installation after getting a replacement for his hard disk.

Due to this, not only that he lost all his stored data but also the original Windows 7 installation keys that came pre-installed in the laptop. If only he saved a copy of the serial keys before the tragedy happened, he would have been able to use it again on his new windows installation.

So, let me share to you how to get those serial keys not only for windows but also for MS Office applications and other games/softwares currently installed in your pc.

For this task, we will be using an awesome utility called Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder. This is a FREE application that can detect and extract existing programs installed in your system that uses serial keys. It generates those details and saves it in a text document which you can keep as a backup.

Let's start :

Download Magical Jelly Bean KeyFinder HERE.

Extract the zip file named "keyfinder.zip".

Go to the destination folder and run "keyfinder.exe".

UAC will prompt you if you have it. If so, simply choose "run" to start the program.

Magical Jelly Bean will now show you all serial key installations detected. For example in the above image, It detected the windows 7 serial key and likewise the MS Office serial keys.
